DEE WHY RSL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL CLUB

The Baseball club enters teams in the local summer and winter competions, both at the top level. Games are played on either Saturdays or Sundays in the afternoon. The main fields are located at Aquatic Reserve, adjacent the Aquatic Centre. Games are also played at Rat Park.

The Dee Why RSL Camera Club provides a positive environment for members of all skill levels to share their interest in photography and develop skills through presentations, lectures, workshops, competitions and social activities.

We meet every second Wednesday in the Level 1 Function Room, from 7.30pm - 9.30pm with a half time break for tea or coffee and a bit of socialising.

The Dee Why RSL Cricket Club is a long-standing member of the Mainly Warringah Cricket Association (MWCA). The club currently has 2 teams registered with the association in 4th and 5th grade competitions.
 

We come together to play cricket honestly and fairly. We have members from a wide range of communities on the northern beaches and encourage an environment where your free to be your cricket self.
 

We are always on the lookout for cricket tragics and anyone who is keen to get on the field and have a go. So anyone with any interest in cricket is welcome.

DEE WHY RSL FISHING CLUB

Dee Why RSL Fishing Club has two sections Rock & Beach and (2) Small Boats.

An open competition for each section is run seven days of the week to enable members to fish in their leisure time. Competitions are conducted and prizes awarded. The Fishing Club is a member of the Sydney North Division of the Amateur Fishing Clubs’ Association.

On the first Sunday of each month (to coincide with the Fishing Club’s monthly barbecue) a competition is held commencing at 6pm Friday and concluding at noon on Sunday with the weigh-in at the social BBQ at Long Reef. Each competitor can choose their own times and locations to fish.

In addition to the monthly barbecue, we also hold in Dee Why RSL Club, two prawn nights each year in March and November.

DEE WHY RSL LADIES GOLF CLUB

The Ladies Golf Club is a friendly club whose members enjoy regular social activities organised by the club's Social Secretary, Jill Chambers. Rounds of Golf are played weekly at Long Reef Golf Club on Monday afternoons. Golf balls are awarded for weekly winners & trophies awarded at the end of the year. The Ladies Golf Club holds monthly meetings at Dee Why RSL Club.

DEE WHY RSL MENS BOWLING CLUB

The Mens bowling club plays on two full size greens at Dee Why RSL’s North Curl Curl Bowling Club situated on the corner of Abbott Road and Griffin Road, North Curl Curl. Players of all levels are encouraged to participate as the basic skills of bowling are very easy to learn. Free coaching with bowls provided on Saturday mornings.

The club currently has pennant teams in Grades 4 and 7 and hope to enter a 3rd team shortly.

The club plays mufti or uniform on Thursday, Saturday (morning & afternoon) and Sunday whilst only uniform on Tuesdays. Cost of bowling is only $5 on these days. Mixed bowls days are available on the 3rd Sunday every month for $10, including lunch.

DEE WHY RSL MENS GOLF CLUB

The Men’s Golf Club tees off every Sunday morning at first light from February to December. We cater for all standards of golf and our handicaps are calculated by the rules set out by the Australian PGA. We currently have 110 members with handicaps ranging from 3 to 35. Long Reef is our home course, and once a year we have a weekend away.

Annual membership fee is $20 and the cost for 18 holes is $45 (discounted rate for pensioners $35).

Approximately once a month the members gather at the Curl Curl Bowling Club for a social.

DEE WHY RSL SWIMMING CLUB

Dee Why RSL Swimming Club was established in 1947. We swim between the first weekend in October until Easter, every Sunday morning - rain, hail or shine. Register prior to 9.30 am and swimming commences at 10.00 am at the Dee Why rock pool.

We have all levels of swimmers and all ages. Our races are handicapped which gives everyone an opportunity to compete on a level playing field. We have a monthly barbecue on the fourth Sunday of the month. Our Annual Carnival, Black Swan Day, is at the end of February with swimmers from several other clubs attending – it’s always a great day.

There are visits to other clubs for interclub completion and some social interaction and to the AIF Carnival which can be anywhere from Albury to Southport. In 2012 it will be held in Dubbo.

Costs: Joining Fee $5.00 Weekly Swim Fee $2.00

DEE WHY ICE PICKS MENS WINTER SWIMMING CLUB

For 50 years the Ice Picks have gathered at Dee Why rock pool to compete and socialise during the coldest months of the year.

The season kicks off the first weekend after Easter and runs through until September.

New members are most welcome from 9.30am on Sunday mornings.

The Mixed Indoor Bowls club meets every Monday night except on public holidays in the Gallery room at Dee Why RSL. This social competition requires players to arrive at 7:15pm to register with games commence 7:30pm. Players are welcome to come in teams or on their own. Players of all ages and experience are welcome.

Costs: $2.00 per game and $1.00 for raffle tickets.

DEE WHY RSL TOUCH FOOTBALL CLUB

Two competition seasons a year. Winter comp is run from April to August and summer comp from October to February. No inital joining fee except for all adult players are required to be a member of Dee Why RSL to be eligable to play in their first season. Second season and subsequent seasons incur an adult playing fee of $90 a season. (Current 2014)
